After surveying community members about the Dacotah Bank Center’s future use, the City will host two open house sessions to share the survey results and gather input from community members.
The open houses will take place Wednesday, March 18, at the Dacotah Bank Center at 824 32nd Ave. People can choose to attend one of two sessions:
Session 1: 4 to 5:30 p.m. with a brief presentation at 4:15 p.m.
Session 2: 6 to 7:30 p.m. with a brief presentation at 6:15 p.m.
After the presentations, residents can view project information, take a short tour of the facility, and ask questions of City officials. Light refreshments will be served.
The City's management contract for the Dacotah Bank Center is set to expire at the end of 2026, which provides an opportunity to consider the facility's long-term role in the community.
A total of 1,426 people completed the City's February survey about the Dacotah Bank Center. When asked to identify a preferred future direction for the facility:
• 35 percent of respondents selected a hybrid model combining both events and recreation
• 30 percent selected an events-focused venue
• 24 percent selected a recreation-focused facility
• 10 percent said they need more information to answer the question
• No single pathway received majority support.
